The Kwara State Government has announced Friday, August 1, as the date for the 2026 Common Entrance Placement Examination into Junior Secondary School (JSS), reaffirming its commitment to expanding access to quality basic education.

The government also disclosed that it will fully sponsor all duly registered candidates, ensuring that no eligible pupil is denied the opportunity to participate in the examination because of financial constraints.

State education authorities said the examination will serve as the placement exercise for pupils seeking admission into Junior Secondary School across public schools in Kwara.

The sponsorship initiative is part of the government’s efforts to improve access to education and ease the financial burden on parents and guardians.

Officials urged candidates to adhere to examination guidelines and report to their designated centres on time.

The state government noted that investing in education remains a key priority, adding that supporting pupils through initiatives such as free examination registration is aimed at promoting equal opportunities for every child.

Parents and school administrators have also been encouraged to ensure that candidates are adequately prepared ahead of the examination date.

The Common Entrance Placement Examination is a crucial stage in Nigeria’s basic education system, determining pupils’ transition from primary school to junior secondary education.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for what he described as significant improvements in infrastructure development and governance within Abuja.

The President said the FCT has witnessed visible transformation under Wike’s leadership, highlighting the completion and inauguration of several projects as evidence of renewed attention to the nation’s capital.

Tinubu made the remarks while praising the minister’s efforts in delivering infrastructure projects, improving public services and boosting the morale of civil servants working within the FCT administration.
